This family was an absolute dream to photograph—from their clothing to their personalities and everything in between!

When  Shauna and I planned this photo shoot we talked about really capturing the essence of her 2 children—real smiles, laughter, personalities. Working with kids this age is so much fun for me because they are old enough to enjoy the process of a photo session but still young enough to be playful and simply—childish!

I frequently hear the stress in the woman’s voice right before a photo shoot—as the wife and mom it’s usually her job to coordinate the outfits and often-times her hubby isn’t really too excited about giving up a Sunday afternoon or an evening to “get his family pictures taken”! The entire process can be a stress and a drain for mom and yet through it all, I always hear “that was so worth it and I’m so glad we did it!”.

We have lots of style suggestions, inspiration and visuals to share when the session is booked and Shauna took advantage of that. That inspiration combined with her natural sense of style created an amazing combination of colors and textures for this family photo session! I loved the extra accessories she brought and her kids are the most adorably photogenic kids ever!
